green pjs The Green Pajamas Box of Secrets: Northern Gothic 2 (AHA!089)
CD $10.00 buy
2007 album of winsome psychedelic pop from Seattle veterans The Green Pajamas, mining spooky childhood nostalgia... Though the subject matter is dark, the music and songs themselves promise to be a bit more rocking and psychedelic, moreso than their last true studio album 21st Century Séance, which explored more mellow moods.
moonbabies Moonbabies The Moonbabies At The Ballroom (AHA!088)
CD $10.00 buy
Ola and Carina (have donned spacesuits) and taken the dreamy electro-pop alchemy of their 2004 Hidden Agenda debut The Orange Billboard and the dramatic evolution represented by 2005's War On Sound Mini Album and made good on every sonic promise made....

thirdimension Thirdimension Before The End Begins (AHA!086)
CD $10.00 buy
New album from our beloved epic-pop stalwarts Thirdimension. A live, acoustic album recorded in a spectacular old church in their hometown of Malmo, Sweden. Features sublty-charged versions of songs from their two Hidden Agenda albums plus some interesting covers: a Jefferson Airplane classic and a mash-up of Blue Oyster Cult and The Posies, believe it or not! The whole lot blessed with all-natural cathedral reverb. Heavenly harmonies, hushed hymns...
green pajamas The Green Pajamas The Night Races Into Anna (AHA!085)
CD $10.00 buy
A compilation along the lines of past Green Pajamas releases like 'Indian Winter' and 'Narcotic Kisses; 20 tracks that, for one reason or another, never made it onto albums or EPs released over the last decade. The result is, ironically, a Pajamas album in what some might regard as the "classic" sense: a rather psychedelic collection of short, sweet pop songs.

jose gonzalez Frank Lenz VileLenz and Theives (AHA!080)
CD $10.00 buyOFFICIAL RELEASE DATE: March 7, 2006
Frank Lenz needs no introduction, especially if you've been listening to independent music for a good amount of time. His amazing drumming, arranging, and producing talents have been lent to musical efforts such as Starflyer 59, The Lassie Foundation, Charity Empressa, Cush, Richard Swift, Kat Jones, The Dingees, Pony Express, Fold Zandura, as well as many more. This CD finds Lenz writing his most memorable songs and infusing them with the near-rampant experimentalism that marked his previous solo releases.
peter bjorn and john Peter Bjorn And John Falling Out (AHA!079)
CD $10.00 buy
The North American debut for Stockholm, Sweden trio Peter Bjorn And John, on Hidden Agenda Records.
Falling Out is a assemblage of ingenious pop songs, cleverly recorded and masterfully arranged, sounds drawn from the simple (the Speak & Spell talking toy that opens the album) to the symphonic (tidy string arrangements). Think early Squeeze and The Jam and several decades worth of British Invasion, Canadian popsmiths A.C. Newman and Joel Plaskett, and the euphoric rush of The Shins.

CD $10.00 buy

ten white stones cover The Green Pajamas Ten White Stones (AHA!072)
CD $10.00 buy
Ten White Stones was recorded live-in-the-studio over two nights at Studio V in Seattle during April of 2004. Outside of three tracks, "The Cruel Night" and "Lost Girls Song" (both from Northern Gothic), and “(She’s Still) Bewitching Me” (showcased as a steamy lament in this setting), the remaining seven songs are all previously unreleased, including the closer, a slow-burn version of the Hank Williams classic "I Can't Help It (If I'm Still In Love With You)".
AK-Momo cover AK-Momo - Return To N.Y. (AHA!071)
CD $10.00 (to be released January, 2005)

PKids Offensive cover Poster Children On The Offensive (AHA!070)
CD-EP $6.00 buy
Mini-album of cover songs inspired by the USA’s current political climate. “We decided to record this batch of political songs because we're pissed off and we don't feel like keeping it to ourselves,” says guitarist/vocalist Rick Valentin. “One politician, one musician or one citizen isn't going to change the world but if enough of us speak out and more importantly VOTE we can make things better. That's not crazy idealistic hippie talk, that's democracy and democracy is punk rock! This CD is just one more snowflake on the snowball aimed at toppling over an administration leading our country down the primrose path.”
3D holiday cover Thirdimension - Permanent Holiday (AHA!069)
CD $10.00buy
Thirdimension crank up the swoon and the swagger on their second Hidden Agenda release, Permanent Holiday, the follow-up to their debut album Protect Us From What We Want (released in Sweden in 1998 and in the U.S. in 2002), a critically acclaimed collection of glossy Brit-Pop epics, rowdy garage-rock odes, ethereal electro hymns, and larger-than-life guitar anthems, rendered with fervent devotion.
you kill me cover Sukilove - You Kill Me (AHA!068)
CD $10.00 buy
On "You Kill Me" listeners will find the catharsis that deserve to make this Belgian band a household name on two continents! Pascal Deweze (Chitlin' Fooks, Shadowgraphic City, Metal Molly, Mitsoobishy Jacson, Nemo - he's also played on albums by Bettie Serveert and Alex Chilton) and his band have loaded up their keen ability to craft pop songs and wheeled their amplifiers over to the dark side of the nightclub. "You Kill Me" showcases building melodies, swelling arrangements, and pure tension-release expertly recorded in studios in the US and The Netherlands. Produced by John Morand (Sparklehorse, Labradford, Cracker, Camper Van Beethoven, etc.). Dense production, a wall of sound, and Pascal's wonderful songwriting and acute wit prove "You Kill Me" to be a stupendous new album!! The album is - for lack of a better phrase - far more Lennon than McCartney this time out. While still melodic and well-sung, there seems to be a lot more upheaval in these tunes; less like Wilco's pop adventurism and more like Franz Ferdinand deciphering Radiohead's rock experimentalism or channeling an angry, young Elvis Costello. Yes, this is the type of record for which NME should be writing 2 page reviews. Great lyrics spilled over dark, driving, brilliant music (that doesn't skimp on the hooks!) from a band led by a tremendous songwriter, inspired performer, and one helluva guy.
unbunny cover Unbunny - Snow Tires (AHA!067)
CD $10.00 buy
New album - the fifth - from Jarid del Deo (Unbunny/Nervous Plants) with help from old friends Steve Haruch, Gregg Porter (The Hotel Alexis/Milkweed), Julie Law-Linck, and Two Ton Santa Records' Guy Capecelatro III and new friends Paul Chastain (The Velvet Crush) and Parasol's own Roy Ewing (Braid/Very Secretary). Recorded with Sidney Alexis (The Hotel Alexis), Paul Chastain, and The Rights (Rogue Wave). After releasing 4 albums in the US and appearing on a variety of compilations in Japan, New Hampshirite Jarid found himself moving from Portsmouth to Champaign-Urbana, Illinois for a year-and-a-half. Snow Tires is a masterful new album intimately plumbing life's changes while growing musically and lyrically. This is one of those records we lifelong music fans dream about as it combines the fragility of Elliott Smith, the humanity of Neutral Milk Hotel, the melodic sensibility of Matthew Sweet, and the careworn metaphors of The Mendoza Line.
hederos & hellberg cover Hederos & Hellberg - Hederos & Hellberg (AHA!066)
CD $10.00 buy
New CD from Martin Hederos (The Soundtrack Of Our Lives) & Mattias Hellberg (The Hellacopters, Nymphet Noodlers)
jeff kelly cover Jeff Kelly - For the Swan In the Hallway (AHA!065)

poster children cover Poster Children - No More Songs About Sleep and Fire (AHA!064)
CD $10.00 buy
In the tradition of Talking Heads' More Songs About Buildings and Food and The Undertones' More Songs About Chocolate And Girls we're excited to present No More Songs About Sleep and Fire, the new full-length album from veteran Champaign rock outfit Poster Children! This is their 9th (or more accurately their 8 1/2th) album in 16 years! The album morphs hyperkinetic new wave pop with angular agit-rock intricacies highlighted by the vibrant guitar interplay between guitarists Rick + Jim and dual singing of Rick + Rose and anchored by Rose's propulsive bass playing and the sturdy beat of new drummer Matt. Twelve new songs recorded in the band's very own Bit Riot! studios in Champaign.

club 8 cover Club 8 - Strangely Beautiful (AHA!060)
CD $10.00 buy
Beautiful, warm album with a surprisingly focused sound from this melancholic duo. Johan Angergård (Acid House Kings/Poprace) and Karolina Komstedt (Poprace) have outdone themselves yet again on this, their 5th full-length recording - their best album to date which means it's no less than a masterpiece! Features guest vocals by Christopher Sander of Chasing Dorotea. Highly recommended to fans of the Acid House Kings, Folksongs For The Afterlife, Ivy, Saint Etienne, The Cardigans, The Field Mice, Swedish pop, etc. This fantastic band is easily one of the finest of the genre!
moonbabies cover Moonbabies - The Orange Billboard (AHA!059)
CD $10.00 buy
Sophomore album by Malmö, Sweden's Moonbabies. The duo comprised of Carina Johannsson and Ola Frick weaves a tapestry of sound bringing together elements as varied as Yo La Tengo's atmospheric pop, The Postal Service's laptop cinema, My Bloody Valentine's lulling crush, The Beatles' "Day In the Life," Stereolab's vintage twinkle...
nanook cover Nanook of the North - The Täby Tapes (AHA!058)
CD $10.00 buy
"Here are the recordings we made with an Eskimo boy named Nanook." So began the letter enclosed with a demo CD titled "The Täby Tapes" by Nanook Of The North. While hanging out at a party in the suburbs of Stockholm, friends Mattias Olsson and Olle Söderström heard Nanook playing songs about his travels from Alaska to Täby, Sweden. They convinced him to record the songs in Mattias' home studio, Roth Händle, providing an arsenal of gadgets and toys (guitars, organs, horns, Optigan, Omnichord, Stylophone, theremin, etc.) to flesh out the songs and luring some of Sweden's favorite female singers of the 80s to lend their voices to the project.
